Ice Lolly

Material: Water, fruit juice, wood

There is something highly enjoyable about licking special shapes from a popsicle. It works especially well with water ice. The shapes that we erode fromthe popsicle respond to our body language. They correspond with the dynamics of our facial expressions and our gestures.
The popsicle principle Involves people in an intuitive shaping game. An initial version of basic types of organic shapes: convex-concave, elongated, extended and twisted were cast in fruit juice. My fellow players were quick to develop empathy with this world of altered shapes, formed the ice and melted it down to the shapes they felt good about. The game did not finish until all the ice had melted away.
A conceptually linked attempt to combine organic shapes with creative communication resulted in the development of biomorphic furniture. The outcome was seating groups, vessels, vases and lounge landscapes, this time made of durable materials.
