Transparent puppet theater
The large puppet theater is about 3.30 meters high, stands on transparent stilts and can be folded up like a classic Punch and Judy theater.
The puppeteer's actions are brought to the forefront of the action by the transparency of the puppets and backdrops behind which he would otherwise hide. Transparent curtains, props and mechanisms are intended to increase the sculptural quality of the works as well as the absurdity of the play hidden in the transparency. This is where the exhibition visitor is particularly in demand, because only by using the puppet theatre does a relationship between object and viewer emerge on the level of play.
The puppet ensemble was chosen accordingly: Punch and Gretel, grandmother and dog, policeman and devil. These semi-plastic reliefs are deep-drawn from PET based on our own models, can be held up by handles or worn as masks in front of your own face. What is particularly interesting is the superimposition of human facial expressions on the physiognomy of the cliché figures. The users are happy to leave the theater with the masks to continue playing in the exhibition room. And sometimes a real Punch and Judy, devil, policeman... appears behind the mask.
